Music festival September Me 2026 goes female!

We are proud to announce the 10th edition of the September Me festival, which will take place from Thursday 24 to Sunday 27 September 2026 in Amersfoort, with Flint as its vibrant festival heart. This anniversary edition, entitled September Me (she/her), not only focuses on female creators and musicians, but also celebrates femininity and explores women’s issues, gender and male-female stereotypes in the programme and in an enrichment programme. Together with singer, songwriter, pianist, cellist and composer Ayanna Witter-Johnson as artist-in-focus, we will do everything we can to ensure that the upcoming festival edition is once again a true festival “for explorers and wanderers”.

September Me (she/her) puts female artists in the spotlight. This involves exploring femininity in the performing arts, the male response or counterpart, and women’s issues across a broad spectrum, partly in collaboration with women’s groups in Amersfoort. In doing so, binary male-female thinking is regularly questioned, we explore the limits of what we want to know about women and femininity, and visitors are presented with a mix of pleasant, almost stereotypical to uncomfortable topics. Men, women, and anyone who identifies differently are explicitly and warmly welcome to enjoy, discuss, entertain themselves, or perhaps be irritated.
